.about/

I am a Graphic Designer from Buffalo, NY. My work blends characteristics of geometric abstraction with absurdism, and existentialism, in an effort to explore the often absurd nature of life itself. One common thread in my work is exploration of the ego and the seven deadly sins. It is my belief that by resisting the pull of these earthly desires, we can pursue self-improvement and reconnect with our most authentic selves.
Much of my portfolio relies on the abstract to suggest what I’d rather not say expressly. My process begins with an unplanned stroke, color, or texture and follows a stream of consciousness method until something more starts to take form. From there, I strive to attain a balance for the overall piece and begin to introduce recurring motifs found throughout my work. Some of these include the disproportionate eyes seen in many of my characters, intersecting dashed lines, semi-circles filled with stippling and more.
Much of my inspiration comes from movements such as Futurism and Constructivism. I strive to incorporate the movement and mechanical feel of the former, as well as the stripped down geometric forms of the latter, to create works which are both visually engaging and conceptually rich. It is my hope that by creating thought-provoking, intricate and purposely cryptic pieces I can give viewers pause and encourage deeper contemplation on what it means to be human.
